Former IMEP • Paris College of Music pianist Laura Operti launches the Eldegée project in 2019 while a student at the school.
After three years’ work on the project, the trio will perform on stage for the first time in 2022. They will soon be on stage.
ELDEGEE borrows as much from the progressive rock of Magma as from the jazz fusion of E.ST. But it’s the melodies that set the trio apart, inspired by composers such as Ennio Morricone and Debussy, among others, that make the instrumental experience accessible to all.
It’s easy to forget that ELDEGEE’s music is performed by just three musicians on stage: in the age of digital production, it’s a deliberate artistic choice for the trio to compose and perform modern pieces with only their voices and the natural timbres of piano-bass-drums.
