Masterclass Ari Hoenig Trio at 38Riv
38Riv is delighted to welcome Ari Hoenig and his trio for an exclusive masterclass!
The trio will show you the rhythmic and harmonic tools they use to improvise and communicate with each other.
The masterclass will take place on Wednesday 2 April from 3.30pm to 6.30pm, prior to the trio’s two concerts.

Ari Hoenig is one of the most creative and influential jazz drummers of his generation, renowned for his impressive technique and innovative approach to rhythm. He has performed alongside such musical geniuses as Wayne Shorter, Pat Metheny, Chick Corea, Brad Mehldau, Mike Stern, Diana Krall, Avishai Cohen and Richard Bona, to name but a few!
His trio was formed in 2020, comprising pianist Gadi Lehavi, hailed by legends such as Chick Corea and Ravi Coltrane, and hyperactive New York bassist and composer Ben Tiberio. The trio released ‘Golden Treasures’ in 2022 and ‘Tea for Three’ in 2024 on Fresh Sound Records.
