Here’s some news about Anjali Denis, a former student in the Open program at IMEP • Paris College of Music, who will be starting her lyric singing studies at the prestigious Juilliard School in September!

In 2020, we devoted a portrait to Anjali Denis. At just 13, she was already showing undeniable talent and a definite desire to succeed, between studying, composing personal projects and mastering at Radio France.

Her talent has been noticed by two of the greatest musicians of our generation: Lionel Loueke and Ibrahim Maalouf. A great source of inspiration and support, they have placed their trust in Anjali Denis and given her the strength to continue pursuing her dreams.

In 2022, she accompanied Ibrahim Maalouf on stage at the Accor Arena where he celebrated the 5th anniversary of his first concert there, a historic concert that made him the first jazz musician in history to sell out.

A few years later, at the age of 17, she released her first EP, Intra, which she wrote, produced and recorded between the ages of 13 and 15. She is surrounded by musicians Jon and Jim Grandcamp, on drums and guitar respectively, and Jean Lamoot on sound engineering.

In the meantime, you may have seen her on France 2 in season 8 of the programme Prodiges, where she won the final of the ‘singing’ category with an opera aria by Charles Gounod.

At just 18 years old and with her whole life ahead of her, Anjali Denis has just passed her baccalauréat and will be joining the Juilliard School in New York at the start of the new academic year! Congratulations!
