The third edition of the Académie de Composition will take place from July 4 to 13 at the Pavillon de la Sirène, under the guidance of Frédéric Maurin and Stéphane Payen.
The Académie de Composition, a project run since 2022 by the ONJ and Real Time Music, offers an intensive 8-day course during which group discussions, individual lessons and meetings with international artists alternate to help eight composers write an original piece for combo or large orchestra.
IMEP – Paris College of Music is a partner in the project, making its rehearsal studios available to the composers for the duration of the workshop.
Claude Barthélemy, Ingrid Laubrock, Sébastien Gaxie and Sofia Avramidou will give several masterclasses, free of charge and also open to free listeners.
From July, 6th to 7th, 2024
This year’s Académie de Composition is enriched by a weekend dedicated to amateurs, organized by Real Time Music, on July 6 and 7. The program for this event, which is open to the public, includes lectures by Julien Pontvianne, François Raulin, Stéphane Payen and Rick Margitza, workshops by Paul Wacrenier and Xavier Bornens, and concerts.
