From the start of the new academic year, IMEP – Paris College of Music will be offering preparation for the IOMA certification (Interpreting a Work of Contemporary Music).
This certification, which has been registered in the Répertoire Spécifique (RS) since 2020, is a major asset for performing musicians wishing to work in the live performance, recording industry or audiovisual sectors.
Why choose IOMA certification?
IOMA certification attests to the technical and artistic skills that are essential for working in contemporary music. It enables musicians to acquire professional know-how while increasing their adaptability to various activities in the musical field. The certification covers eight key skills and is issued exclusively by the FNEIJMA, which authorises organisations such as IMEP to prepare candidates.
Financing available through the CPF
The good news is that the first three years of the Professional Cycle at IMEP can be financed through the Personal Training Account (CPF). This scheme enables anyone in employment to acquire training rights throughout their working life. The IOMA certification, registered in the Répertoire Spécifique, is eligible for this funding. This makes the course more accessible to all musicians wishing to professionalise their practice.
A course to suit all profiles
To prepare for IOMA certification, IMEP offers a three-year training cycle called the Professional Program. Students can join the course in the first year or directly in the second year, depending on their level.
The syllabus, which complies with the FNEIJMA’s quality criteria, offers rigorous supervision and specialised teaching to ensure that musicians receive comprehensive, recognised training.
