Musiques en courts is a competition organized by the town of Sceaux and held every year in November.

This music composition competition for short films is supported by the Hauts-de-Seine department and Sacem. It is intended to reward the best original compositions created especially for the occasion.

Musiques en courts is open to all creative musicians and composers who are not professional picture composers. It is designed to reveal and reward the best original compositions created for existing short films.

Candidates must apply before June 26.

Fifteen candidates will be admitted to the competition. In July, they will receive three short films of up to eight minutes each. They will have to choose one of the three films and prepare the original musical accompaniment, with a view to performing it or having it performed live on the day of the competition, Sunday November 24, 2024 at Le Trianon cinema in Sceaux.

Three prizes are up for grabs:

– Professional Jury Prize: 1,500 euros
– Prix des Amis du cinéma Le Trianon: 750 euros
– Prix du Public Jeunes: 750 euros
